My answers to your burning questions about writing The Twickenham Trials are here. So see if your school gets a shout out.
From Thursday 17th September to Friday 16th October, I wrote a daily story, set during the Rugby World Cup – as it happens. In 22 episodes lasting between 5 and 10 minutes, it was a thriller with lots of outrageous cliffhangers.
It was aimed at schools to be used as a classroom read. Or if your school is not taking part, parents were invited to read it to their children at bedtime. Schools were welcome to copy and paste the story onto their own blog / website to enable more families to follow the story.
I wrote each chapter the night before it was published, so that I could draw on Rugby World Cup events on and off the pitch and put them into an almost ‘live’ story.
It was free and published by the RFU, who commissioned me to write it. It was based on the characters from Rugby Academy published by Barrington Stoke.
We have also produced free literacy resources that you can use to inspire reading for pleasure around the Rugby World Cup. They can be found here.
Please do let us know if you are having any difficulties voting or downloading chapters. Email me direct here or email info (at) tompalmer.co.uk
