After the War is my latest children’s book . It is about the three hundred child concentration camp survivors who came to the Lake District nearly 75 years ago (who were known as the Windermere Boys).
I am very grateful to have the kind support of key witnesses and from Trevor Avery and the Lake District Holocaust Project. Research has taken me across the UK and Europe.
Writing News Summer 2020
I am in the middle of my second draft of a new project about the Arctic Convoys of the Second World War. I have written other stories about the Army (Over the Line, The Last Try) and the RAF (Flyboy, Spitfire, Typhoon and Rugby Academy) and so it is very exciting to explore a new Naval story. My research will be taking me from Plymouth, England to Loch Ewe, Scotland and hopefully further afield.
Thanks to the Imperial War Museums so far for their amazing audio archive of naval testimonies, I have completed my first draft, with many more to go!
