Interchange is children’s novel, illustrated by James Innerdale written to celebrate the 2013 Rugby League World Cup published by Hull Libraries.
Interchange is the story of twin brothers, Brad and Sam who grow up playing rugby and training together. They both have trials for Hull KR and Hull FC rugby league teams and are each successful. But that’s when the problems start.

Writing Interchange
James and I really enjoyed working with Kelvin Hall School pupils to develop the story of Interchange. Read their blog about the visit here.
Read my blog about it here .
My favourite scene in Interchangeis the one where the twins go to their local library. One finds a book on rugby league technique. The other finds a magazine about the game. We wanted to put libraries in the story because they are a fantastic place to find books about things you love.
Interchange was launched on World Book Night 2013 in Hull. There is an exhibition of James Innerdale’s illustrations at Hull Central Library.
