Welsh rugby resources

Dead LockedUse these resources to celebrate Deadlocked the third book in the Rugby Academy series.  It is story of Owen – a passionate Welsh rugby fan and player. With the support of the school librarian, who gives him a copy of Calon by Owen Sheers, Owen becomes a passionate reader through his love of the game, as well as leading his teammates out on to the pitch in a rugby tournament in New Zealand.

“Tom Palmer is brilliant at capturing the passion of sport and the drama it creates.” Julia Eccleshare, Love Reading for Kids

“Tom Palmer did extensive research into the sport and into what it’s like to be in an RAF family. The result is impressive. It’s realistic: men fighting in a combat zone are in danger and it doesn’t always work out as you might hope, but this point is dealt with sensitively.” Bookbag

To celebrate the launch of Deadlocked on 23rd June 2015, I hope these free resources will help promote reading through the love of sport in your school.  (Click on the green links. )
