| Olympics & Euro 2012 |

New research from Bristol and Oxford universities has shown that when a country is heavily involved in international sports, its school pupils's academic results are significantly worse. Given that we have both Euro 2012 & the Olympics ahead, I’ve produced both a Euro 2012 and an Olympic Reading & Writing Packs and a letter for schools to send home with Top Ten Tips for Parents on using Sport to encourage children to read, so hopefully this year, we can help children be this summer's Reading Champions. |

“every child has really enjoyed our teachers reading us the story”. Abbie, Maesyrhaul school “I must email you to let you know HOW excited our school is about the World Cup Mystery. There is a real buzz of excitement and anticipation amongst our pupils every morning when it is reading time. The members of staff are really enjoying it too!” Claires Court “Your story inspired boys and girls to get more involved in reading.“ Upton-by-Chester High “We are using the story in tutor groups across the school and some of the materials as activities during tutor time.“ Holloway School "I have been downloading Tom's fantastic episodic story from the Literacy Trust website. Every morning I have children, particularly the boys, running up to me to check that I have downloaded and printed out the latest chapter of the story. The feedback from all the teachers is really positive, they tell me that it has really captured the boys imaginations and is encouraging them to read too!”
